that can give an indication of the level of happiness a person is feeling each day and where they can make changes to improve how often they are happy.

Another useful tool to help create a more positive outlook is used in cognitive behavioural therapy. This is the idea that if we challenge the thoughts we are having as they may be distorted then our outlook can improve by creating a more realistic image of our thoughts.
This kind of thought challenging done regularly can reduce automatic negative thinking.
